Commission FAQs
What can I expect the process to look like?
1. Fill out the commission form, and I will get back to you within 2-3 business days. If no spots are currently open for commissions, your request will be added to a waitlist and I will reach out to you once there is an opening.
2. Once discussing the commission and finalizing price, I'll email you an invoice for a 50% non-refundable deposit. This is to ensure I receive serious inquiries and reduce risk of not getting paid!
3. I will get you an image of a pencil sketch after receiving your deposit.
4. After incorporating any feedback and getting your full approval on the sketch, I'll move forward with inking. Once the inking process has begun, no changes will be able to be made. If requested, I can email a picture of the final piece prior to shipping.
5. Upon finishing the commission, another invoice will be sent to you via email. Once the remaining 50% of the payment is made, I will pack your piece with care, and ship it out to you!
What are your prices?
Pricing will be shown down below on the commission form but varies depending on size and complexity of commission! Payment will be split between a 50% deposit upfront, and 50% upon completion.
NOTE: Multiple commission orders that are meant to be completed together as sets (e.g. 3 matching floral designs) may be offered at a discounted price and will be discussed via email before starting.
Can I order more than one commission at a time?
Yes, but it depends on the project type!
- Sets: If you are ordering a series (e.g. 3 matching floral designs) meant to be completed together, use one form and we can discuss pricing and deadlines.
- Individual Pieces: For unrelated projects, please submit a separate form for each.
NOTE: If you have multiple commission requests, please submit the forms in order of priority. I balance multiple clients and earlier deadlines may take precedence.
How soon can I expect the piece to be finished?
Timelines vary depending on my current workload, as well as the size and complexity of the piece. Most commissions are completed within 3–4 weeks, though smaller pieces may be finished sooner. I can provide a more accurate timeline after reviewing your request. Expedited options may be available.
What subjects do you accept or decline?
Due to my specific style and current comfort zone I will not accept the following:
- Human portraits or figure drawings
- Color artwork (commissions are currently black & white)
- Explicit, inappropriate, or offensive content
Some ideas of accepted commission subjects include:
- Landscapes & scenic locations
- Architecture/buildings
- Nature subjects (trees, flowers, etc.)
- Structural objects (bridges, vehicles, monuments, etc.)
If you have any remaining questions or concerns about accepted subject matter, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Can I use the artwork commercially?
Unless otherwise agreed upon, commissions are for personal use only. Commercial use or licensing must be discussed before the project begins.
Will my commission be shared online?
Clients can choose whether their commission may be shared for portfolio, social media, or promotional purposes when submitting their request.
Do you offer expedited commissions?
Expedited commissions may be available depending on my schedule and workload. Rush requests will require an additional fee.
